The electric powertrain.

All-electric mobility means a steep reduction in the number of moving parts, the main sources of mechanical noise and vibration. The upgraded 38.3kWh high-power battery has superior charge/discharge characteristics, maximizing both electric driving and energy storage from regenerative braking.

Regenerative braking.

The regenerative braking system captures braking energy that would otherwise be wasted and uses it to top up the battery power reserve. The IONIQ Electric's high-voltage battery is recharged through regenerative braking - an innovative technology that captures kinetic energy while the vehicle is coasting and when the brakes are applied. Steering wheel-mounted paddles allow you to increase or decrease the amount of regenerative braking you can potentially harvest.
